Land Art Project

This project strives to create double ground, to materialize a horizon.  For three years I worked within a square kilometer sized area with equal numbers of birch and beech trees.  The vision was to have the beech trees grow together to ultimately create a "cave" system while at the same time a rooftop of branches and leaves would create the illusion from a distance of a new ground level. The trunks of the birch trees would create a symmetrical colonnade. The trees that have been cut down in order to realize the project have been piled up and allowed to remain as remnant material from the creation of the horizon. This project is still under construction.
